Entirely photographed by Anthony Arquier, the autumn-winter 2022/2023 issue of ‘Care’ explores a theme of care and well-being, from a personal, societal and ecological perspective, through interviews with the duo Fecal Matter, whose extreme looks are a visual manifesto for tolerance, the activist, artist, author, designer and transgender and non-binary performer Alok Vaid-Menon, who develops a rhetoric of love through his work and discourse, and actress Oulaya Amamra, winner of the César for Best Newcomer for her role in Divines and soon to be seen in Quentin Dupieux’s Fumer fait couser. These interviews are accompanied by an article investigating the backstage, motivations and limits of contemporary philanthropy, and other texts on the difficult acceptance of a form of degrowth in the face of the ever more pressing need to drastically reduce our CO2 emissions; on the clichés faced by racialised people in the offices of certain mental health professionals; and on the many difficulties still encountered by transgender people in France, in 2022.
